Ayesha Zahid is an independent artist working in oil paint, along the themes of womanhood, love, and whimsical fantasies. She has collaborated with local and national clients, and has exhibited her work throughout the country.

Her practice is rooted in storytelling through illustration. The Heer Ranjha paintings take the Punjabi folk romance and stage it in the register of miniature painting — flattened perspective, decorative branches, a stream running between two people who cannot cross it.

She lives and works in Rawalpindi.
